S2E14: The Hustle vs. The Hobby
Buckle in, ya’ll… today’s episode goes *DEEP* into a struggle both Laura and Sara have been navigating through for years! Do hobbies even exist in 2020 millennial culture? But before all that fun stuff - Sara’s stressin’ about planning the final details for her upcoming trip (but also super excited for it!), meanwhile Laura’s hating tax season in between a serious dump of inspiration/passion project fell into her lap. The two chat for a while about creativity before segueing into an in depth chat about what it means to constantly feel the need to “hustle” interests into a career versus enjoying our interests simply as a hobby. Is it okay to not have children and not be a career woman? Why are millennials obsessed with side hustles? Why do we feel the pull to monetize every hobby into something more? Sara and Laura talk “failure,” false promises, identity and so, so, soooo much more. Let’s get into it!
